Custom commercial refrigerator gaskets fabricated to order

Made-to-Order for Your Exact Door

Custom Commercial Refrigerator Gaskets — Fabricated to Your Door, Installed on Site

Every commercial refrigerator door is different. We fabricate custom gaskets — push-in, dart, screw-in, and magnetic — in commercial-grade PVC, cut to your exact dimensions. Any brand, any size, any unit — including discontinued models.

Why Custom Fabrication — Not Off-the-Shelf

Commercial refrigeration equipment doesn't come in standard sizes. True, Traulsen, Hussmann, Turbo Air, Beverage-Air — every manufacturer uses different door frame geometries, channel dimensions, and corner configurations. A gasket ordered from a generic catalog might be close to right. Close isn't good enough.

A gasket that doesn't seat perfectly in the door channel leaves air gaps. A gasket with incorrect corner dimensions bunches or pulls away. Either way, the seal fails — and your compressor compensates by running harder, your interior temperature drifts, and your energy bill climbs.

Cal Gaskets custom-fabricates every commercial refrigeration gasket we install. We measure your door, select the correct profile from our inventory of 25+ commercial gasket types, cut to your exact perimeter dimensions, and form the corners properly. The result is a gasket that fits and seals the way it was designed to.

Gasket Types

Every Commercial Gasket Profile

We fabricate push-in, dart, screw-in, and magnetic gaskets — custom-cut from commercial-grade materials.

Push-In (Snap-In) Gaskets

The most common profile on modern commercial refrigerators and reach-in units. The gasket spine snaps into a channel in the door frame — no screws required. We fabricate push-in gaskets in multiple rib counts and widths to match the exact channel dimensions of your door.

Common on: True T-series, Turbo Air reach-ins, Beverage-Air, most modern reach-in coolers and freezers

Dart (Barbed) Gaskets

A push-in profile with barbed fins that grip the door channel more securely — common on older and heavy-duty commercial units. The barbs prevent the gasket from pulling out under repeated door cycling. We match the correct fin count and material for your application.

Common on: Older True models, Traulsen units, some walk-in cooler doors, industrial refrigeration

Screw-In (Mechanically Fastened) Gaskets

Screw-in gaskets are held in place by a retainer strip fastened to the door frame. They allow precise tension adjustment and are the standard on many walk-in cooler and freezer doors. Our technicians remove the retainer, fabricate a new gasket to the exact frame dimensions, reinstall, and test the seal.

Common on: Walk-in cooler and freezer doors, Hussmann display cases, Chase doors, institutional units

Magnetic Gaskets

Magnetic gaskets contain an embedded magnet that draws the seal flush against the door frame when closed. The magnetic strip must be replaced along with the gasket material to restore the full sealing force. We fabricate replacement magnetic gaskets with the correct magnet specification.

Common on: Residential-style commercial units, some display coolers, older reach-in freezers

The Cal Gaskets Difference

What Makes Custom Fabrication Worth It

Off-the-Shelf Gaskets Don't Fit Most Commercial Doors

Commercial refrigeration equipment comes in hundreds of configurations — different frame widths, channel depths, door thicknesses, and corner radii. A gasket cut to a generic size will leave gaps, bunch at the corners, or fail to seat properly. A custom-fabricated gasket is made to the millimeter for your specific door.

We Stock 25+ Gasket Profiles

We fabricate from over 25 commercial gasket profiles, covering push-in, dart, screw-in, and magnetic types in PVC and rubber materials. Whether your unit is a standard True reach-in or a decades-old discontinued walk-in cooler, we have the right base profile to start from.

Discontinued and Non-Standard Units Are Our Specialty

Many older walk-in coolers and commercial units no longer have manufacturer-supported replacement parts. Because we fabricate from raw material rather than pulling pre-made gaskets off a shelf, we can produce a correct seal for virtually any door — including units no longer in production.

Correct Corners Are Critical

A commercial gasket fails at the corners first. Proper corner fabrication — whether mitered, welded, or formed — determines how long the full seal lasts. Every gasket we produce gets properly finished corners, not cut-and-hope field joins.

How It Works

From Measurement to Installed Seal

01

On-Site Measurement

We measure the door frame channel dimensions, corner radii, and door thickness at your location. For unusual or discontinued units, we photograph the existing gasket profile to match it precisely.

02

Profile Selection

We select the correct base profile from our inventory of 25+ commercial gasket types — matching the spine geometry, fin count, and material to your door's requirements.

03

Custom Fabrication

We cut the gasket to your exact door perimeter dimensions, form the corners correctly, and use commercial-grade PVC or rubber material rated for the operating temperature of your unit.

04

On-Site Installation & Seal Verification

Our certified technicians install the gasket, check door alignment, and verify the seal across the full perimeter before leaving. You get confirmation the installation is airtight.

Common Questions

Custom Gasket FAQs

Can you fabricate a gasket for an older unit that's no longer manufactured?

Yes. Because we fabricate from raw gasket material rather than pre-made catalog sizes, we can produce a custom gasket for discontinued, non-standard, or unusual commercial refrigeration units. Bring us your door dimensions or the existing gasket and we'll match it.

How do I know which profile I need for my door?

You don't need to know — that's what our free on-site inspection is for. We measure the door channel, assess the existing gasket profile, and select the correct replacement. If you'd like to start remotely, text us a photo of your door and the equipment label to (707) 843-4041 and we can often identify the profile before visiting.

Do you fabricate gaskets for walk-in coolers and freezers as well as reach-ins?

Yes. We custom-fabricate gaskets for walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in units, display cases, prep tables, undercounter refrigerators, and virtually any other commercial refrigeration application. The fabrication process is the same — we measure, select the right profile, and cut to your exact dimensions.

What materials do you use for custom gaskets?

We use commercial-grade PVC as our primary material — it provides the right combination of flexibility, durability, and temperature resistance for most commercial refrigeration applications. For walk-in freezer doors operating at sub-zero temperatures, we use a low-temperature-rated compound that maintains flexibility in extreme cold. We don't use residential-grade or imported generic material.

Can you match a gasket profile from a photo or sample?

In most cases, yes. Send us a clear photo of the existing gasket cross-section — or bring a removed section — and we can identify the profile and fabricate a match. For unusual or very old profiles, an on-site visit ensures we get the measurement and profile exactly right.

How long does custom gasket fabrication take?

For standard profiles, we can typically fabricate and install in a single visit. For less common profiles or very large jobs, we may need one to two business days between the measurement visit and installation. We'll give you a clear timeline when we assess your doors.
